Overlooked invertebrates

Numerous kinds of organisms live on the earth, but only a small part of them have been given the names in Latin, i.e., scientific names. Tiny and/or inconspicuous organisms are often nameless and ignored to study, even if they are commonly distributed around us. However, such an overlooked organism is also one of the members constituting ecosystem, and it may have essential roles to stably maintain each ecosystem.
It is impossible for us to study every organisms on earth, and we focused on some marine benthic invertebrates having unique shape and/or life such as photosymbiotic metazoans and etc..... Needless to say, I mainly study tunicates. However, I have sometimes been involved in the study on other organism, and my laboratory members often wish to study non-tunicate invertebrates.Visit the next pages from the sidebar.
